BELLA
Christabel Were, affectionately known as Bella, was born and raised in Nairobi, Kenya. Her musical journey began in 2005 at school music festivals, leading her to pursue a professional career in 2013 as a talented vocalist. Inspired by icons like Miriam Makeba, Lokua Kanza, Sauti Sol, and Ambasa Mandela, Bella's music transcends borders, allowing her to tour and experience diverse cultures—a dream come true. Witnessing music’s power to uplift artists and provide for their families motivated her to follow this path.
Overcoming childhood shyness, she has developed remarkable stage presence, performing at festivals across Europe. However, Bella faces challenges in a male-dominated industry, where female artists are often overlooked.
Despite these obstacles, she is determined to create music that resonates globally, continuing to amplify her voice and inspire others within the ever-evolving landscape of the music world. Bella's journey is a testament to resilience and the transformative power of art.
